The Content Management (CMS) Expert will be responsible for managing and optimizing the organization’s content management systems and strategies within a large enterprise environment.
This role works closely with the MARCOM department to ensure seamless collaboration, efficient content workflows, and alignment with corporate goals. Acting as a bridge between IT and business units, ensuring the effective utilization of CMS platforms to support the organization’s digital transformation and content management needs, catering to the scale and complexity of an enterprise organization.
This role is critical to ensuring the organization’s content is effectively managed, easily accessible, and aligned with strategic goals. The CMS expertise will directly impact the success of marketing campaigns, internal communication, and overall operational efficiency.
Role & Responsibilities:
Manage and maintain enterprise content management platforms, ensuring availability, security, and scalability.
Perform regular system updates, patches, and performance tuning.
Collaborate with IT to ensure systems meet compliance and security standards.
Work closely with Marketing and Communications to align CMS strategies with brand guidelines and communication goals.
Facilitate the integration of multimedia, campaigns, and digital assets into the CMS.
Support the design and implementation of content workflows tailored to the department’s needs.
Develop and implement content taxonomy, metadata, and classification schemes.
Establish and enforce content governance policies, ensuring data integrity and consistency.
Provide guidance on content lifecycle management, from creation to archiving.
Analyze content workflows and recommend improvements to enhance efficiency.
Identify opportunities for automation in content creation, approval, and publishing processes.
Provide reports on content usage, system performance, and workflow efficiency.
Work with procurement teams to evaluate and select ECM vendors that meet organizational requirements.
Manage vendor relationships related to ECM platforms, including performance reviews and contractual negotiations.
Ensure vendor compliance with service level agreements (SLAs) and address escalations as necessary.
Lead CMS implementation, migration, and upgrade projects.
Develop project plans, set timelines, and ensure timely delivery of CMS-related initiatives.
Collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
Integrate CMS platforms with third-party applications, APIs, and enterprise tools.
Oversee content creation, editing, and publishing on CMS platforms.
Ensure all content complies with brand guidelines, SEO best practices, and accessibility standards.
Train content authors and business users on CMS usage and best practices.
Analyze website performance and provide actionable insights to improve user engagement.
Provide ongoing support for content teams and troubleshoot issues across platforms
Act as a liaison between technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Support cloud hosting and infrastructure setup (Azure, AWS) for Sitecore, SharePoint, and WordPress.
Serve as the CMS expert for cross-departmental projects, ensuring platforms are effectively utilized.
Ensure regular updates, patches, and security configurations for all CMS platforms.
Experience & Education:
Minimum 5 years of experience in managing enterprise content management platforms.
Proven experience in working across IT and business functions.
Hands-on experience with system integrations, data migration, and workflow design
Bachelor’s degree in information technology, Computer Science, Business Administration, or a related field.
Certifications in content management systems (e.g., Sitecore, SharePoint, WordPress.etc) or CMS-related tools are highly desirable.
Strong understanding of CMS platforms and technologies.
Proficiency in HTML, CSS, and basic web development.
Familiarity with cloud platforms, hosting digital marketing concepts and tools.
